The Skokie Bike Network https://skokiebikenet.org/ in conjunction with Ride IL & The League of American Bicyclists will be hosting a Smart Cycling Class on October 26th from 10 am - 2 pm consisting of skill practice, proof of proficiency, road riding, group riding and basic bicycle maintenance. Two League Certified Instructors (LCI) will be facilitating the class and is limited to 10 participants.

The Smart Cycling course has been designed by the League of American Bicyclists and is designed to ensure bicyclists become confident and competent riders. It is a prerequisite to becoming a LCI (licensed certified instructor by the League of American Bicyclists). The course requires 2 +/- hours of online reading, videos and tests. Participants must pass the online tests at an 80% accuracy level for successful completion of the course.

The cost of the class is $50 payable to Ride IL (insert link). Scholarships are available upon request.

Personal testimonial - I thought I was a good bicyclist until I took the Smart Cycling class. The class improved my riding skills, knowledge of rules of the road and helped me to become a better bicycling advocate to model to motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists of how to share the road!
